Kurio Snap is the kids portable photo booth! A device made for Kids, to take goofy pictures and selfies, to be creative with the photo editing, to share their creation with family and friends and to have fun with funny photo games and apps.
The Story
The challenge was to create a design language that would speaks about technology and that would free itself from standard camera design specifications. We wanted to create something new, appealing and different.
With Wifi connectivity, a large touchscreen, a 3 MPx lens and flash, a echargeable Li-ion battery – 1000mAh, the Kurio Snap can store up to 800 photos. Storage can be expended Up to 32GB.
The overall design is splash proof and shock proof thanks to a silicon case, Kurio is always aiming to provide products that can sustain kids behaviour.
Process Notes
The squarish outlook is inspired by the polaroid picture frame. It has both a large viewing area and functional margin. As for many project we used 3D printed samples in order to validate the ergonomic feature and overall proportions.
In order to reduce cost, instead of having a set of two camera for the front and the back of the device, we created a special 180° rotative lens that brings more interaction in between the user and the product.
